Rocket Vinyasa - Rocket is a fast-paced and playful practice developed by Larry Schultz in the 1980s. It is rooted in the Ashtanga Yoga tradition and includes sun salutations, standing poses, seated poses, back bends, inversions, and twists. Expect a well-balanced class with time to explore arm balances and inversions.
Ashtanga Primary Series – “Ashtanga” means “eight limbs” in Sanskrit and references the eight limbs of yoga described in the Yoga Sutra of Patanjali. The Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series is a traditional yoga series consisting of about 75 poses. The sequence is designed to build strength, flexibility, and stamina. All level students are welcome; some yoga experience is helpful.

Learn more about our Mysore program and watch a video here.
Alignment-based (All Levels and Level 2) - The Alignment-based class moves at a slower pace than a Vinyasa Flow, with opportunities for students and the teacher to engage in a dialogue during class. The teacher explains individual postures, asking students to inquire into how the poses feel in their body and determine the modifications and variations that work in their individual practice. Classes are often themed around specific body parts (with more in-depth discussion of anatomy) or peak postures (with drills and mini peaks leading up to the peak). Throughout class, students are taught strategies for training the breath as a tool for achieving the maximum benefits from the practice.
The all-levels alignment-based class is appropriate for students of all experience levels; yoga experience highly recommended for the level 2 class.

Each class will begin with a series of acro yoga conditioning drills to develop the skills needed for counter balancing. Next, we will explore partner-assisted handstand training geared toward alignment, tightness, and balance, because much of acro yoga happens upside down for the flyer.
